![]() ![]() Fortunately, there are several other resorts that offer the attitude to match the experience. What?! If you are looking for a classic Minnesota getaway, Leech Lake is the place to be. You will find how running Acorn Hill Resort is “no different than running a soccer club” also, which should give a clue as to what you can expect here. You’re not at the site you put a deposit down for last year and the 6 years before that? It’s the previous owner’s fault. ![]() The campground itself is nestled on one end of the larger state park and. While the sites are not really scenic and tend to be quite off-level, the park staff are very helpful and eager to help ensure you have a good experience. Anything that goes wrong will be blamed on the previous owner. A small quiet campground nestled near the Susquehanna River and very close to the historic town of Havre de Grace. If you are graced with the new owner’s presence at your RV site or cabin, he will tell you how he makes no money from RV sites and how he could strike it rich by changing them all to cabins. This doesn’t go over real well with customers having who have visited here for several years. He will then proceed to tell you how terribly managed this place was prior to his family’s ownership. The new owner himself, from Chicago, will make it known very quickly that he “didn’t even want to buy this resort,” but instead wanted the one down the shoreline, but because financing got screwed up (not his fault □□ you’ll sense a theme with this) he settled for this one. Having gone to this resort and happy with the services and vibe of the place for years, we were somewhat anxious to hear there were different owners since we were here a year ago. It definitely is the place to be for the summer on beautiful Leech Lake!!… Very little to worry about other than show up. Lots of things to do for the kiddos if parents just want to relax. ![]() Our seasonal RV is amazing and the neighbors are all friendly as well!! The seasonal RV lots are up on top of the hill and by ourselves and its just a short walk to the lake. Of course the lodge for ice cream! We love this place and all it holds for memories. But it is set on sand and dirt and the campsites I felt were not very roomy, very much on top of each other. It has everything that would make a kid wanna go there and the fishermen or ladies are spoiled with bait and gas on site!! And the firewood is brought to your site upon asking by the cutest little boy ever ( oh and Auntie) Indoor pool, game room, water slide into the lake, water trampoline, volleyball court and bb court. Set in the middle of nowhere, so very peaceful, very quiet. The grounds are clean and safe.no high speed traffic to worry about. The resort is family run, kid friendly and of course dog friendly. The changes that the new owners are doing are awesome! Bigger harbor- means more parking of your boat, new bar area in the indoor pool / game area. Last year the resort changed ownership and of course that comes with new ideas, new policies and of course change.
